Topic: '68 Bumper Arm Insulators

Here are a few pictures of the bumper arm insulators that should be on all the '68 cars.  You see the large round ones often; but the other two are not reproduced to my knowledge and often missing.



This is the C7ZB-17B947-B insulator seen on page 9 of the body assembly manual in view A.

Here are two pictures of the C7ZB-17B947-A insulator also seen on page 9 in view C.  I rarely see these on restored cars and don't think they are currently being reproduced.

Finally, here is the bumper 351139S that is on the top of the optional chrome bumper guards. As seen in view B of the Body Assembly Manual. Unfortunately the "stud" that holds it to the guard broke off.

Cool.  I don't recall ever seeing that small grommet at the front of the bumper arm.  It's a tight fit, so I could see why it would be used. 

I have a home for that little triangle grommet!

I have both the round bumper on the outer arm and the smaller one on the inner arm as pictured above.  I'm pretty sure they both came in a kit from NPD.  I will look, but I'm sure that the round one for the outer arm does not have the ribbing on it as the original did.

That is one of the down sides of uploading and storing posted pictures off site. When those sites are taken down, go out of business or are bought the links go away - PhotoBucket is an excellent example. Doing it the wrong way initially cost me tons of hours so please learn from my mistake.

Unless the original poster is still active and had the original pictures he can repost, they are gone. Each of you have a gallery you can use to upload and link to your post here on the site. Notice the Gallery "button" at the top tool bar on the page.  If your going to participate consider building a directory with sub categories so that you can find the pictures later, if need be. The number can grow quickly.

Don't know if I have any 68 insulator pictures but will try and remember to look for some.

Attached is several pictures of the insulator used on the outer Front Bumper brace (C7ZB-17B947-B) found in view A page 9 of the body manual.

I do have both inner insulators (C7ZB-17B947-A) found in view C page 9 of the body manual, but I do not think they can be easily removed to photographed.
