Here's some pics of the Voltage Regulator I pulled off my 64 1/2.

Just wanted to know if it's original to the car, the cover is plain black (probably not correct) but the bottom has a stamp 3MC (1963 December 3rd Week)?

I don't recall seeing one with the printing on the base- side "7163......"

Looks like repro to me.  The way you can usually tell is if the original style plastic terminal guard fits.

Another small detail is the original caps have ARM FIELD BAT stamped into the metal.

Good example of metal stamped case. FYI the color of cover and trademark on ink stamp indicate a 67 up service replacement. Mentioned only to avoid assemblyline detail confusion.
