68 FB exterior louvers
« on: July 25, 2010, 05:52:09 PM »
What is the correct way to paint the exterior louvers on a 68 FB.  Should they be assembled, or should only the cast part that is visible from the exterior be painted, and the plastic inner part be left unpainted.

Looking at the parts that came off the car, it appears it was all painted as an assembly, since there is overspray on the other two pieces.

Thanks,

Andrew

I think the general consensus is that the exterior cast piece was body color, the flat grill type piece was natural or silver (I used silver on mine) and the plastic piece was black (molded black plastic).

How were the louvers painted? Were thay hanging separately, or were they attached to the body on spacers like the 1/4 extensions?
