Topic: 1966 Metuchen HT Sprint Coil Spring paint color ID

Hey guys,
Can anyone help me identify the color of this coil spring paint stripe?  The car was bucked Jan 20, 1966 at Metuchen.  It's a Sprint 200 Package B hardtop (C4 Automatic).  No AC or PS.  The color looks like yellow at first, but in the daylight looks like it maybe tan.  It could be white for all I know and just dirty.  Springs were only gently cleaned in a part washer with kerosene so far, until I could just see the marks.  I have not soaked in Evaporust yet.

According to the chart I believe the stripe should be pink. The load should be 1279 if I am reading it correctly. Maybe someone has another thought

Try soaking in evapo-rust, the color will be obvious when you pull them out.

What "chart" Chris?  If your referring to the list of replacement springs in the MPC have found those to often be unreliable when compared to original cars. or representing the true colors applied

Tom if you haven't gotten better confirmation I can add this. My '66 Sprint Coupe is (was), equipped the same as yours. The main difference is assembly plant. When I disassembled mine I found some really good marks left on the springs. There is no doubt the color code was pink. I've attached a pic I took to document my details.

Thanks JKWilson!  I haven't gotten around to the evaporust step yet but when I do I will confirm.  But that sure does look like it could be it.
