Since this car is modified, it may have a power steering box with old tag added back on.

Take a look at your wheel stops.  Picture is of the L/drivers side on my 65

Picture is worth a thousand words ...

My steering stops are reversed.  I'll swap sides and see if that fixes it.

I believe I have 6 cylinder steering stops installed instead of 8 cylinder. Ugh. Anyone know where I can get a good set?

I don’t think the steering stops are different between 6 cyl and 8 cylinder cars
