Topic: Group 27 Battery Tray

I have acquired an original OEM Group 27 Battery Tray.  It needs to be blasted and painted to placed into a show car.   I was thinking having it Powder coated would be best.  Or would that damage it's value/originality??  What's best method?  Also, what's a good estimate on its value, i think they are pretty rare?

FYI service battery trays were painted black and assemblyline versions were painted with batch/slop paint. amended to reflect for Dearborn cars.

Believe that we'll find that battery trays regardless of type were painted differently based on supplier and in turn assembly plant. Have always found San Jose group 27's to have the same black as used on the smaller trays if original Bob is likely referencing what is typically found on Dearborn built cars since he focuses on Shelbys
