Thank you Mr. Gaines, do you have a picture of a restored unit as mine has been possibly spray bombed. I am taking it down this weekend. Not sure what the "brush" band looks like [black or gold zinc] and the nose should be natural?

There are a number of threads on the subject so you can use the search feature . Make sure the nose is not painted and I will do the rest . It will not take that much more for me to do. I would suggest making up a paper gasket to go under the band on the end. that is if you want it assemblyline looking as the rest of the details.  Gasket paper is best . It should stick out just a little from the edge . You can use the metal band as a pattern.

If the picture is of yours then it is most likely not been rebuilt  given the faded stamping. If not just to be on the safe side can you post a couple pictures here to confim you have the correct nose ? Rebuilds sometimes substitute parts with other years as long as they work and the nose is the most common replaced.

As mentioned there is one or two threads were we looked at and discussed the stamp design originally used on the earlier (64-68) starters verses the 67- 73 stamped in metal style. The design of the "decal" turned out to be different from the original (likely taken from a later service replacement) but bottom line is yes you can get a starter stamped with an approximate or appropriate date from your car.
