Definitely some touch-up in that engine bay.  See lots of bolts painted black that should be phosphate.

Body lines are really nice, hood/headlight area has great fit.

Mike M. might have to consider selling his cars now!

I'll take the SVO.   Pretty sure that's an original car!  ;)   Not so sure about the '65.

$63,800 for an SVO?  :o :o   Barrett Jackson VooDoo

As promised here are some pics of the car.  The car was locked so I was unable to get any dataplate information on it.  Also the trunk was closed...There was a lot of undercoating on the car...

Thanks for sharing.  Undercarriage is a bit shocking, even leaf springs replaced.

I was expecting this but not quite to the extent it turned out to be.  Just another example of the originality being over hyped on a auction car.  I wonder if the buyer who paid the 82K did so thinking it was untouched underneath and under the hood?

The seller must be on cloud nine!  You would think they would have cleaned it up a little better.

No doubt

As far as cleaning, it's hard to tell where the black spray bomb paint starts and the dealer undercoating starts.  Doing any cleaning would most likely open a can of worms.  I would have at least expected factory leaf springs, doesn't make any sense why they would be replaced on a 14k mile car.  I bet the originals were fine, probably just rusty.

What in the world is that galvanized piece between the gas tank and the rear axle?  It looks so out of place to me...

I guess it is the muffler.  In one shot, it extends all the way to the driver's side leaf spring. (maybe it is the angle of the photo)

I'm not that familiar with a single pipe system; I always had an A-code with dual exhausts.

Yup, muffler.  I believe it should be at about an 11 degree angle like this one.

What do you want to bet the muffler has been replaced too.
