Just because its shown in the manual doesn't mean it was done that way on the assembly line, does your shock tower have a screw size hole in it at about that spot ?

Have never seen or heard of one being used on a production car. Think this might be another error in the assembly manuals if that is what your seeing

Can see that on Fairlane one of the heater hoses may be retained to the shock tower so its possible that the illustrators or an engineer may have considered it at that date but the page was redrawn and replaced the day or more later

Please don't build a car based solely on those drawings and information

The correct part number is 377719-S. The clip is also show as being used for 68 and 69 200 I-6 heater hoses, and for 69 and 70 headlight wiring harness for 428CJ and 70 Boss 302 at the radiator support, 2 each. I have found no support dimensional documentation for the clip. Based on its lack of finish, I would assume it's a plastic clip. The 69 428 application shows 2 each screws 55981-S2 14-14X1/2 hex screw. In this application, the clip is drawn as a full loop. With two different applications, heater hose and headlight harness, it may exits, or not.

The retaining clip used on the 6 cylinder application is shown in picture #10 (from the top in the first post) in the following thread

But of course this doesn't help if they didn't use it for 67 390's ;)

Some of the metal was replaced in that area due to rust so there is no hole but there is a dimple in that area. If there is no clip is it still the correct routing for the hose and it just kind of hung there? It shows the non ac hoses running together on top of the valve cover.

Did your 390 67 have Thermactor or not?

They didn't normally travel (were cut) to route that far out.

Ac hoses didn't run down that side of the engine compartment on your application

It did come with Thermactor. There is an insert picture on the same page with thermactor but not detailed enough for me to tell exactly how they are running or the distance from the shock tower.

Routed along the top of the engine, basically between the outer ed of the intake and valve covers under the thermactor hoses for the one connected directly to the heater core. For the one to the valve below the drivers side thermactor,  hose to the outside nipple of the shut off valve and then using one of two hoses (depending on when your car was built) to the heater core from what I'm seeing
