Door Panel Removal - 69 Deluxe/Mach I style
« on: December 31, 2016, 01:28:22 PM »
Happy New Years! I have a 69 Shelby with deluxe door panals. Before I loose my temper and rip the damb thing off, can someone tell me how to release the center retaining bracket which is behind the door light assembly? (Thank for allowing me to vent)

Did you remove the screws at the hand grab area of the door panel?

Not seeing any screws other than the two that hold the metal light cover on.

Passenger panal had no center fastener. Came off easy.

Ok, the center is held in by two compression studs. The door panal has a push on clip behind metal door skin. Simular to how some exterior badges are fastened in place.

At the bottom of the door pull cup, there should be a rubber insert that lifts out exposing a screw.

Accurate looking but not a Concours Restoration/build. See my build photo gallery at 69GT350 Hertz Build

+1 - Just the 65-67 deluxe door panels ;)
