what about the spring seat and the strut rods. what shut the finish be on them.
Two different metals, different ways each was made and because of that two difference finished look.
Strut rods would be heat treated forged pieces whole front spring seats were bare steel bent and formed into the piece .
Strut rods would have a darker finish so I use gun bluing repair fluid as mentioned in those threads and articles that have been mentioned in you prior threads
The spring seats would look bare new steel with shinier areas where the metal was bent from the stretching and from the contact with the dies
I again use the gun bluing after the metal is stripped and smoothed if it needs that. Then steel wool applied rather than dipped or rag/brush applied for the heat treated applications then worked with new steel wool for the highlights and lightening of the overall metal to that look I'm aiming for
