Mirrors can be identified by understanding a few simple rules. If the mirror is marked with "DMI" it was supplied to Ford by "Donnelly Mirror INC". The first number identified the month produced. The DMI is Donnelly company, and the second number gives the year. There was a second supplier to Ford named "AJAX" and the mirrors they supplied were coded in the following way: First symbol will be a letter of the alphabet indicating the MONTH (January would be indicated by "A" . "B" would indicate February and so on) The letters JX will follow the month, and the last two numbers will indicate the year. (67) so you would see a mark such as A-JX-68 for a mirror coded January of 1968 and manufactured by Ajax INC. Hope this in some way helps you identify at least two sources of outside mirrors and the manufacturers marks and date coding
