68 Small Block Power Steering Hose Bracket
« on: December 11, 2016, 08:35:50 PM »
Is the correct finish for the hose bracket (with the rubber insulator) semi-gloss black? The one that I pulled off my car appears to be that way but I can't tell if it is factory paint or not. New Jersey car, 302 -4V, January '68 build.

Don't have any NJ examples on file. Do have them from other plants - semi-gloss black base and clamp sections

I believe the semi gloss black is typical for NJ too . I have seen a few that appear unpainted but by far the painted is the majority.

Old thread... what about the attaching bolt for the D clamp bracket with rubber insulator? What is the finish of it? It seems per the assembly manual the whole bracket is listed as a unit and the bolt isn't identified separately.  3E601 ASSY is what on page 70 of the Chassis manual.

There is a picture from that late 68 San Jose unrestored thread with a fairly clear shot of the bracket and bolt/screw. Bolt/screw is fairly dark so likely P&O

PS4 is the picture I first found
