Hi Everyone,  I'm trying to figure out the best way to clean the different rubber hoses in the engine compartment that has colored stripes or stamped printing on them such as heater, brake boost and vacuum lines.  The new hoses sometimes has a whiteish film on them.  I just don't want to remove the stripes or printing off the hoses.  Thanks Mark

Westleys tire brite cleaner. Spray or wipe it on then wipe off. That is what i use.

I accidentally used a waterless car wash product (overspray  ) and it cleaned the radiator hose quite nicely.

I've used lanolin based hand cleaner without the grit on stripped ones and with grit for those unmarked. In other cars for long term freshening have put them (once clean) into zip lock bags with some Zymol weatherstrip softener

Will this product work on softening brittle wires such as a license lamp wire and the boot? $33 is alot of dough for 8.5 oz.
