I need to replace the front drums on my 64-1/2 restoration (July 64 build).  The aftermarket suppliers sell the drums and hubs separate.  I assume it is just a matter of replacing the studs to attach the original hub to the new drum.  I also assume these would be compatible with each other.  In the "olden days" I think the factory recommended that if you had to replace a couple of studs, to replace the assembly.  I guess this does not matter anymore since I will be in effect replacing all the studs.  Appreciate hearing from someone that has replaced the front drums and reused the original front hubs.

The Drums will come off the spindles. I soaked my in solvent a few days then tapped the spindles out of the drums. Studs stay in the spindles.

I just had to replace the front hub on my 65.  The studs are press fit.  You can knock them out as suggested, or press them out.  They are press fit in the hub as well, so they may or may not come out.  (I don't think 64 1/2 are different) They can be put in with a hammer and taken out the same way.  OR you can take it to your local garage and have them Press it for you for a nominal fee.  OR by a cheap press at Harbor freight.  If you go the hammer route, put a lug nut on the end of the stud when driving out to preserve the threads.

Brass punch works well also, or use a press.
