1967 Defrost Duct with A/C connection????
« on: November 14, 2016, 10:00:25 AM »
I am replacing my defrost duct (tabs broke). In doing so I notices there is about a 3 inch gap between the duct and the heater box. Is there a connecting tube between the duct and box? I do know there is a flexible connector on latter models. My google searches came up empty for 67.
This is an A/C car with the one piece defrost duct.

Thank you!

Do you have a picture of what you are working with?

Something is wrong. On a AC box the one piece defrost duct sits  on top of the blower case diverter.
Yes pictures will help.

I think I figured it out. I found a picture from prior to the box being reinstalled. The "accordion" vent is missing between the diverter and the duct.  Any idea if the accordion vent can be purchased, if there is a suitable substitute or if I need to suck it up and buy diverter with the accordion attached?

You lost me early on when you said 'defrost vent'.
That ducting was stapled to the A/C distribution manifold. A/C center vent square duct tubing is not available reproduction, that I am aware.
