Unique GT-CS at show
« on: October 29, 2016, 08:20:07 PM »
Unique car came to our show today. Believe some members might know if it. It is a 68 GT-CS but is a six cylinder with smog pump. Had a MCA grille medallion. Car is sea foam green. Looked really good. Hoping he brings it down to Tucson next year.

Interesting.  I thought you couldn't say GT and 6 cyl. in the same sentence.  Brian

I think I know that car.  It was owned and restored by a gentleman in Tucson, AZ who got several golds for a sea foam green GT/CS with a 6 cylinder.  Can't be too many of these out there...I can provide the name via PM.

Yeah it is that guy he sold to another gentlemen who lives in Phoenix now.  He did have a lot of golds with the car.  Said he won the medallion in 10 shows I believe

Original owner I guess wanted very few options, and the Cal Special package. Guess it was how he worked out being able to afford it, just barely

The GTCS was purely a appearance package and could have come with any engine / transmission combination. Of the 3867 GTCS's and the 251HCS's there were 101 3spd T codes and 47 C4 automatic T codes for a total of 148. There were 138 GTCS's and 2 HCS's produced in Seafoam Green.

I saw this car at an MCA National Show in Pensacola FL in the early 2000s. Definately a unique vehicle and this one was beautiful. It's the only 6cylinder GTCS I had ever seen.

The new owner bought a really nice, unique car.

To add to Marty's numbers, there are only 47 T codes listed in the Registry, and only one T code in Seafoam Green.
