69 Wiper Assembly Detail
« on: October 20, 2016, 12:11:39 PM »
Not sure if in the right area but... June 12 1969 Dearborn Shelby GT 350 wiper motor assembly question. Mine came out of the car with the motor bracket partially painted body color (white) and the plastic motor protective cover painted body color (white) How should these parts really look like?

Thank You.

Sounds like everything got some paint or overspray during a repaint of the car. They likely shot all the panels in place and the paint passed through all the vent slits in the coil cover. Basically all these parts were finished as you might have found them, just look at the bottom side of the shield, bracket, arms ....

This sort of thing is real common on these cars after all these years

Note to others viewing this thread - other models (non-Shelby's) can be finished in this area will appear different.

As yours possibly looks at the moment - Not original

Original without the repaint overspray

The silhouette marks caused from painting pieces on top of the cowl (as seen here), are those of the plates found on the doors, rear, near the latch?

Correct, sometimes they were painted on the package tray. Silhouette of the plates for the door window stop brackets on 1969-70 cars.

Seen a few placed on the window (rear) opening lip on sportroofs but haven't found them on Mustang coupes on the package tray but most commonly on the cowl from what I've seen.  Are you referring to Cougars or Mustangs?
