Anyone know the pin out of the ignition switch
« on: July 02, 2010, 10:49:38 PM »
So I left my ignition switch in place while sandblasting the cowl.  Needless to say it was full of sand.  So I took it apart cleaned it up and put it back together.  I would like to do a continuity check on it before I put in the car just to make sure I put it back together right.

Its a 67 switch if that makes any difference.

I've been asked to clarify my question.  Basically I need to know for each switch position which pins (or color wires) are supposed to have continuity.

1967 ignition switch:
Yellow pin: continuity to battery via firewall plug
post on back (ACC): continuity to yellow when ignition in any position but off.  May be off when key to CRANK.
blue/red pin: continuity to yellow when in CRANK position
green/red and pink resistor wire: continuity to yellow when in RUN position

Thanks midlife.  I just tried to test this and the yellow pin doesn't seem to connect to anything in any position.  Now I have to decide if I should take it back apart or just buy a new one.
