First welcome to the site - hope you find the concours related information and help your looking for

These brackets were not used on most 67's so before you get one think you need to be sure yours came with one originally.

Does you car have the original passenger side inner fender panel and does it and possibly the fender have the corresponding hole(s) in them?

If you have a 68 (you didn't mention in your post or your signature) don't recall every seeing one installed originally on a Mustang from that year. But will check my pictures to see if I can find any evidence of prior installation.

I am working on 2 67s that have the bracket. One is a SJ T code built in May 67 the other is a Dearborn 67 S code built 2-15-67. Was there any rime or reason as to what cars got them? I can get a picture of the one I have if needed.

Marty have you ever found one or evidence of one being installed on a 68? Think he is looking at that year rather than 67 but can't be 100 % sure

Have allot of pictures of 67 with them (but at this point no pattern either) but nothing on any 68's any plant.

Think our new member may have found them listed for 68 and was just going with what was printed in the ad assuming that they knew

No pattern that I have ever heard about or can determine. If it had a hole it should have the bracket .If no hole then no bracket. I have not come across one on a 68.

I have never seen a 68 with one either. I would guess only about 5-10 % got the bracket.

Thanks for the welcome. Car is a late built 68.  With out a picture as an example to see where it is installed, its hard to tell if mine ever had one. But guessing at where a hole might have been,  I see nothing.  So for 68,  they felt this reinforcement was not necessary ?

One end went on the battery hold down bolt closest to the apron the other end was attached to the apron with a hex screw.
It is doubtful your car had one, check for a hole in your apron.

It was hardly necessary in 67 production as evident by so few that got it. 68 if it was used at all it must have been even fewer since it hasn't been observed.

Marty, is the bracket you have an original?   If so I was wondering if you could post measurements (width, etc)?
My Shelby has a screw hole in the apron.  I purchased a repro bracket from SEMO mustang and it seems to be too large - won't line up to hold down bolt and existing hole in apron.    Attached a picture of a NOS Ford bracket - not mine.
Kurt.

P.S. will you be at the Mustang Show on the 25th?

I plan on attending. I can bring my original with me. Are you going in display only again?

My 67 Shelby has the bracket but when replacing my battery I got into a problem.
The new battery was lower and I had to use a very thick (1/2") washer to get the
battery secured.

Thanks Bob,  my car has AC so I think group 24 was original.   The tray I have is a Ford one with a pretty close date as I recall.  No rustout on inner fender below tray, so I assume is original but can't be sure.   I'll try comparing my bracket with Marty's and if its off will check NPD.  Also will try to fudge the tray a little if I need to.
You're right, no hole no problem, but that pesky hole is staring at me when I pop the hood. >:(

Marty, will see you at the show and compare brackets - will be in display only section :)

Kurt.

For the discussion - what makes you believe or suggests that they were installed at all during 68 production?

If we don't have anything to go on - hate to see the site suggest that any of the factories were installing them ;)

I was not very clear on that statement. What I meant was I have not seen any 68's with the bracket and I would guess that only 5-10 % of 67's got the bracket.
