Topic: Lug Wrench Code

I have a lug wrench that I think came in one of the boxes when I bought my 1969 Mustang. The lug wrench has the following, ZE9 on the handle. Does that decode to mean (Z Mustang) (E May) and (9 the year)?  I'm just guessing here.  Maybe someone can clear this up for me.  Thanks in advance.
