Hope these pictures show.  Having to do it from my phone as I'm out of town.  No red oxide under the washers...

Thanks for checking. If you still can - check the back side of the washer for transfer of the paint/color and take a little car polish to the frame rail section. If it were bare we would expect that it would have been galvanized where this washer sat rather than bare metal.

The back side of both washers (drivers then passengers).

Also, the passenger side tunnel at the shifter and the drivers side as well.  Both of these "spots" were cleaned with a cloth towel and simple green.

This is the tunnel support right over the transmission.

To me this looks like the more ripe scuppernong berries in the bowl... :P

Allen, if you mash all the berries / grapes in the bowl, then 'paint' the solution on the car, will it match?    Think the paint shop can match it if you
brought the bowl to them  ;D?    I like it!

Got a thought and something to try. Put some paint stripper on a small section and see if anything bubbles or flakes up like paint.

Got to ask - is conducting this discussion on more than one sites more productive or more confusing that way  ;)

I will try that and see what happens.  Any suggestions as to exactly where to try it or does it really matter?

As to your question, sometimes more productive and yet sometimes it can get more confusing.  As I stated over there (and I find it to be true), "The Concours guys seem to get a bit more in depth with their analysis."  That is holding true this time as well.  I ask on both simply to try and collect more information.

Will my car be concours correct?  Man, I'm not sure.  However, I am striving for it to be as close as possible and I certainly appreciate the insight!

Not on my list. Cab, Zin and, more recently, Malbec are on mine. Better colors too (not for painting).

Per Jeff's suggestion, 1st picture shows ta small amount of paint stripper applied, 2nd picture is after 30 minutes wait time and the 3rd picture is of the paint stripper wiped off.

I saw no "bubbling" or "flaking" with the paint stripper applied...(to my surprise actually).

Starting to look like no undercarriage primer, just over-spray from exterior paint and other areas.

What color was the car originally?
