Original Radiator lower insulator pads, BF-C8ZB-8125-A-?
« on: August 27, 2016, 12:14:32 AM »
Hi,
I was cleaning up some insulator pads for my radiator brackets, Had 2 1968 style and 1 1969-70 style. I wasn't careful enough, didn't notice the 1/4" length difference (some are a little compressed from use) or that some of the lower pads have a FOMOCO stamp and a part number.
I have been through the MPC, a number of Mustang/Cougar online catalogs and on the base number(8125) but can't figure out the final dash number. I have 3 with numbers, 1 BF-C8ZB-8125-A-19, one -10 and one -6.

I am asking on the 1967 1968 forum also, but since one bracket set was 1969-70, maybe they are something people here have seen on 69 and 70 cars. From what references I have found, the lower brackets were similar in the pad area (or maybe thats all the Repop market supports).
Thanks for any help.

The pads on my car seemed to be the same size and I did not notice the 1/4" difference in any of them.   I only had 3.  Same BF- C8ZB-8125-A pad as yours but last number on one is 9 and the other 50 and the third ?  Only have the two in my notes.  Have since gotten new lower OE  brackets and repro pads.  Oddly the lower repro pads are C5ZZ ? Possible a casting number (number of the mold the part was made in)

Just as a general comment -
For many parts (not in this one) often the part number is what is listed in the MPC not the enginnering (number found on the part). This can produce problems lookign up one set of letters and numbers and trying to cross them over to the other,. One of the reasons Ford published cross reference books for that purpose.
