Last night I was digging through some parts I have collected over the years and found a fomoco Power steering box kit with part number C5ZZ-3A635-E and a date code of 7-31-1965.
what I found interesting amongst the pieces inside was a original belt dated 3rd quarter of 1965 with a belt number of C5AE-8260-F (images attached)
Bob Mannels book doesn't seem to list this belt reference, so I reverted to other ford books I have and came up with the following which I would like a little explanation on.
C5AE-8260-F. MUSTANG, FAIRLANE AND FALCON. 8 CYLINDER 289.
for application; power steer w/o air con - dealer installed - w/o therm.
confused by the comment "w/o air - dealer installed"
?
by my records the correct belt for a FORD MUSTANG 1966 with power steer no air con and without thermactor is; C5AZ-8620-K with a belt marking of C5AE-8620-U
is it just another belt that could be used in this application that is not listed.
happy to here from the experts.
regards.
