69 351W 4V 4 speed carb spacer

Did the 69 stick car use a carb spacer and if it was used what was it feeding vacuum to ? thanks Paul.

Don't have a 351 but...Usually the PCV dumps into the carb spacer plate.  Vacuum is usually supplied at an opening/port in the intake manifold.  Brian

Agree the plate allot the PVC a place to attach to (provide vacuum for)  There were two style of plates depending on when the car was assembled. Automatics used them also

They used bakeolite (s?) to make the spacer from which means allot of them were broken over the years


Sorry was thinking 69 351W in a Shelby rather than Mustang :(

Engine date codes are all 8K and the car was built November 20 1968.

Are auto trans different? I have a thick aluminum spacer on my engine and have a photo of another 69 w auto with the thick plate also. Should not make a difference but these are 69 Cyclones.

Are they different No from what I've seen. Do you have a part number or Id on the spacer you have.

My mistake - thinking too much 69 Shelby 351 parts rather than the 351 with the cast iron intake :(

That is exactly the spacer my M code FMX Mach 1 was born with, and still on the car when I bought it in 1981 with the engine haven't been apart before.
Still have it on my shelf, but the car now has a C9OX intake and 428CJ thin bakelite spacer with straight pcv nipple unlike Boss 302 spacer with angled nipple.
Needed hood clearance with the tall Buddy Bar intake even with the low pro 428 shaker bowl with 351 midplate.
No snorkel, just an Australian Falcon XY GT block off plate and the flapper always full open.
A dogs breakfast of parts under the hood.

To add, it depended on the engine assembly date too (for a Shelby engine). Agree a new thread for the different line of thought or PM.

As far as the spacer (focus of this thread) its completely different due to the height of the carb mounting flange (intake difference)
