69-70 windshield moulding foam
« on: August 05, 2016, 10:08:51 PM »
was there a foam weatherstrip between the lower part of the windshield and the lower windshield stainless moulding to prevent rattles or rubbing of the moulding to the windshield, if so what was the thickness of it and location , is it availible in repo or other, thanks

Guess your referring to this seam. Not sure when they were used ( all or only a period) as we don't often find the remains

Sorry have never measured one and there is often only a section or or some left after all these years

This example is a very late 69 NJ example

Below are two possibilities - both focus on rubber reproductions of 69-70 parts

Looked at the Car Research (Scott's place) but don't see them listed there

https://www.musclecarresearch.com/

Also didn't find them listed at Jack place (DeadNutsOn)  either

Might just be my inability rather then them not being there so I included links so you could look

Ed Meyer sells rolls of the foam strip . It goes under the convertible trim molding too.

what I have is upper convertible ONLY foamstrip that goes under the wide convertible only .  The lower foam strip in jeffs pic is much smaller & narrower than the upper convertible strip &  the lower thin foamstrip is easy to find as I think I found it in my area local store.
