67 GT Fog Light Wiring Details at Grille
« on: July 28, 2016, 07:58:55 AM »
1.) Looking for images of original layout of wiring and installed images of fog light wiring clips.

2.) Is wiring clip ("P"-shaped) 377846-S reproduced? It looks a lot similar to the ones used on later 67-8 Hood turn signal lights, Osborn manual has those as 377774-S so Ford saying they are different.

AMK and other vendors are selling the 379061-S clips for the Fog Light Wires at the support braces but I'm not finding the looped slyle (or hoop style) anywhere yet. BTW, beware of these 379061 clips at Champion Mustang...they are selling the wrong ones (found out the hard way when I went to slide them on)

Jim Chism  has produced a good reproduction for the fog light wiring clip. He also has the snap in clips for the hood harness that tend to break when removed.

Can you show a picture of the clips?  I know what you're describing with the clips that snap into the hood for the hood harness, but I'm lost on what the other clip should be.
Too much junk, too little time.

Picture of it in the Electrical Assembly Manual where the fog lights are ( mine is at home now) I have no original images of what one looks like, just that illustrated image so far. (Jeff?)

Clip 377846-S is not reproduced. It is sort of common for 64 thru 67 Mustangs, with your best source of used clips being 64 to 66 Hardtops where two are used in the trunk for wiring (also 64-66 Convertibles and one each in 65-66 Fastbacks). The 67 application is the console and fog lamps. Description - 1 5/8L,1/2W,1/16T,11/32H,BLK PLSTC
Clip 377774-S is used on 67-68 hood mounted turn signals only. Description - 1.0L,1/2W,5/16LOOP,0.413X0.627MTG GRIP,0.210 HOLE

Clip 379061-S is still being sold by AMK.

Good to know where to look for these...Alongside AMK, the Assembly Manuals and GOOGLE search's, I need to ALSO start using that spreadsheet you made up Jim! I might actually still have some from a 67 console

My "master" spreadsheet has over 9700 entries for all Mustangs from 64 thru 73 so I can see multiple years applications. There are also references to the sources for the item itself and where it was used. Every time someone on the forum comes up with a hardware item I'm not familiar with, I try to find out about it.
This all started when I asked a guy behind the counter of a local Mustang shop if he had in stock - "the bolt that holds the clutch return spring bracket to the brake pedal support column". He said he had no idea what I was talking about. That was in 1990. That shop is out of business but I know what the bolt is, its name (aka part number), description and where to get it. In this case, it's 42490-S8 and it is not reproduced, but it is the same as 42789-S8 which is, but with a different head marking (which will be addressed soon).

Following up from an older thread here...wondering if anyone has photos they can post showing the details of the fog light wiring at the grill.  How the wires are routed and clips for the wires in that area.

I can provide pictures of MY INTERPRETATION of the information I gathered for assembling my 67 GT. IF NOTHING ELSE, a basis of further discussion.

Ok thats perfect....thanks for those photos.
So are the clips (fog light wiring to grill) that were discussed on this thread a long time ago available today or anything that is very close?  Those are a nice detail touch.

Per the "1967 Mustang Electrical Assembly Manual" (AM0018 pg 50) the Ford part number is 379061-S. It is still available from AMK. That clip is common on 65 thru 68 Mustangs for electrical use in a variety of applications.
Use the Assembly Manuals.
