Radiator Support to Hood Seal Clips
« on: July 09, 2016, 03:39:53 PM »
Anyone have a source for the radiator support to hood seal clips?  NPD used to carry but they are out of stock and will no longer be carrying them.

Which ones? There were more then one used . Can you post a picture of the ones you know you need? For example the gas tank sender wire clip used on 65-68 was a variety that has been observed used at some plants in some situations .

Looking for clips on this order: https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/clip_kit_retainer_5-196284-125.html

Those would be the ones we see used at San Jose in 69-70 typically. Not used IMHO at the other two plants/cars

re read reply #1 . The clips mentioned were sometimes seen on Dearborn car including 69/70 instead of the more prevelent staples.

Yes - they are discussed and pictures shown in at least four other threads.

Search is your friend - used 69 radiator seal clips. Other words might produce even more info ;)

Re non San Jose clips
http://amkproducts.com/Catalog_PDF/138-150.pdf

A common electrical clip as pictured on page 145
I think it was the half plasti-dipped ones as opposed to the plain ones (4th and 3rd on page)
I posted about this years ago and right after, they started showing up on eBay used for $40 a set or some nonsense, gimme a break!
I have some in my junk box if you need them.

Looking at the MPC (May, 75 ed) under the seal called out in the 70 Mustang Body Assembly Manual, page 17 (that and a couple of other pages are missing from the 69 Body Manual), C4DB-16A238 - factory, C4DZ-16A238-A - service, it shows the application as "69 390 4V" and "70 200 I-6, 428CJ". However, under full size Ford is a referral to base number 8349 which is another seal group, mostly full size Fords, T-Birds, 70-71 Torino (all engines) and 71-73 Mustangs (all engines). The key here is this seal group, 8349, list the clip 371141-S as being used - only for T-Birds and the Torinos.
That's what Ford service lists, and we know Ford factory is sometimes different. This much can be gleaned from the above - the clip was used for radiator seals. How or why Mustangs got the clip is open. The stapler being broke is a very good reason.
