What is the finish for the black on the rear end housing SGB ? The rear hubs are cast iron ? And for the retainer plate ?
Thanks

Pictures of each/most are shown in other threads as well as articles and threads showing or offering tips as to how to reproduce the original look

Sorry for the delay - its show month so many of us will be traveling this month and away from the internet

Rear housing is a SGB with a natural unpainted surface were the third member attaches

Rear brake drums are cast steel  - normally darker IMHO that what one would see with just bare cast iron - cast black paint as a result of heat treating of some form

With machined surfaces surfaces highlighted and weights natural untreated steel

Pictures are not offer to illustrate anything other than contrast between the different metals and surface details possible on your particular style of brake drum

Not sure what your referring to as a "retainer" plate. Could you help out here so I can help you out. :)
