PCV hose and valve
« on: May 19, 2016, 03:32:22 PM »
Will this hose for 289 fit a 200 pony..?
What the PCV valve does and what's the meaning of PCV..?
Excuse my ignorance.

No, the 200ci PCV hose is a lot longer and more narrow.

Thank you very much Charles.! I was trying to find the correct one for my 200 I6 in Virginia Classic Mustang, but only found this one, nothing for a 6Cyl (?).

Josep

PCV stands for positive crankcase ventilation.  Essentially, the valve allows crankcase vapors to be drawn into carburetor and burned, rather than venting the vapors into the atmosphere as was done with the earlier road draft tube.  PCV systems were among the first emission control devices mandated by federal law in the 60s.
