Has anyone ever seen a double hump style hipo air cleaner on an early 65, like Sep or Oct, hipo car?  There were used on 64.5 hipos, but wondering if it carried over some.

Here is an early (06K) 65 hipo coupe for sale on eBay that is pretty complete, and has a double hump.  It could have been replaced of course, but just wondering if anyone else had seen this.

Jeff - you and I discussed this once for early Shelby's, and I believe you said pics of those showed the later flat style air cleaner lid.

Just wondering because my hipo fastback is an Oct 9, 1964 build date, and I have an original double hump I picked up. :)

What do you think the odds are of this eBay car having a double hump originally, or other examples?  It is also a Dearborn car whereas mine is a San Jose.

Thanks,
Rich

Some reference discussions.  Sounds from a couple of these the double hump could be found on early 65 alternator hipos.  Does anyone know how far into 65 production they might have been used, or is there a plant difference?

Jeff mentions here they were used 64.5 and into 65 production..

Charles mentions 64.5 and early 65 alternator production....

Jeff mentions here one of the 3 early (Oct 64) Shelby's was delivered with the later, flat style hipo lid....

Have to report that I have nothing that would support or challenge what air cleaner lid was used for Sept 64 installed K code engines. This would carry though maybe the first half of October production then we start seeing (with some solid data points) the usage of the later flat lids.

Just no data points that I can find and support. Some examples are out there we just know nothing about the cars (VIN and so on)

Just what I have at this point  ???
