428 Valve Cover Gasket
« on: June 16, 2010, 05:28:40 PM »
I know the valve cover gasket for a '69 CJ car is silver and stapled to the valve cover tabs on chrome valve cover cars, but is this gasket also silver on an aluminum valve cover car?  Seems like it would be the same gasket, but ????

Thanks guys.  Sikora's book says either, and the pictures I have of a '70 SCJ crate engine looks like they might be natural cork, but that could also be typical of a later production (or maybe the silver has just disappeared with age).  I'll go with the silver for my '69.

Are the 70 CJ silver also, if so where do I find them?

Thanks,
Don

Most make them - first find a set of cork gaskets with the correct locator tabs then paint them with your favorite silver paint
