I have decided to paint the internal parts with a 2K paint finish with a closest match to bare metal as possible.
The rods that come out of the heater box case will be bare metal with a Boeshield finish.
Thanks for the advice.
I have some questions for applying the seals...
in attachment a picture (004) with the new seals held in place by some tape.
the 2 'pyramid shaped' seals, are they supposed to be on the outside (like done in the picture), or must they be inside?
If they are supposed to be on the outside than I think there would be a problem when mounting them in the 2 cases from the heater box.
in the other picture (picture 4) you can see clearly there is no clearance between the cases?
When they are supposed to be on the inside, then there is a problem with the 'internal door'-> the seals are way to thick for the movement of the 'internal door'.
Or mustn't they be applied at all?
A heater rebuild kit should provide you with any foam seals that would go on any internal doors or otherwise non-re-usable items. Heater core end foam is usually not included in the kits.
-> Is the heater core foam needed for no A/C equipped cars, or is it just needed for the A/C equipped cars?
When looking at the NPD catalogue they only mention A/C cars for 67?
Am I right concerning black paint on bracket and phosphate/oil for screw/fixation plate?
-> is this so?
Again, thanks for all the help.
Kind regards,
Jeroen
