Has anyone seen yellow stenciled part numbers on a 67assembly line drive shaft?
I thought it may have been a service part.It had a pink and green stripe as well. It was out of a 06-11-67 SJ coupe I6 3spd Manual.
The number is 19078-5W. I had it soaking in Evaporust and the number appeared, I thought I would rinse it off and when I did the paint went too. I am kicking my self for not taking a picture first. It did not rust where the paint bands and numbers were so I still can replace them.
Believe 19078 represents the tubing diameter/base number (same as the 65-66 examples) the 5 W is believed to represent when it was made Have 5W examples from spring 65 cars (4Ws from that period also)
Here are some pictures.
Marty, the transmission end strangely has the internal clips like the 66 driveshafts. Are you sure this is original to the car?
