I went ahead and purchased a pair of these and the castings are built very much identical to originals except the factory casting marks such as "Prestolite" and engineering numbers.
I do not believe they are painted correctly, they seem to have left too much of the chrome visible. (area behind the fog light still chromed front and back, including the mounting area. The underside of these are also chromed and I suspect they would have been painted from Ford. Summarized, the reproduction are only painted on the top sides of the bars, the rest is all chromed)
I could use somebody inspecting their "known originals" to see what areas are chromed, where the paint is and where the paint is not.
Since I know that I had repainted my originals years ago, I am no longer positive how they may have been originally. Because of this, I just took a look through several pictures of other low mileage unrestored examples at this site. Not much help on this detail but it appears that the only portion of the fog light bar that is NOT painted is the narrow leading edge of the bars. This is how my originals that I repainted 20 years ago look today too.
