1966 Convertible boot
« on: April 15, 2016, 12:55:20 PM »
I just picked up this boot at a swap meet. In comparing this to a new Distinctive boot, the back side is much different so so I am posting a photo. Also the back side lining material has "GS" stamped on it in a regular pattern. Since I have never seen an original convertible boot I was wondering if this was any closer to looking original than the current reproductions. The front of it is very much the same as the reproductions with just minor differences in stitching. Thanks.

Any thoughts as to if this convertible boot cover is an original 1966 Mustang boot or just an old, used reproduction one? Thanks

The 'GS' markings are OEM vinyl supplier markings.  Looks like an original to me.  There is usually a vinyl date code also, like E6.
