I'll concede that a Florida car MIGHT have received H.D. cooling  8)

If so, what should the correct rad look like?

Look here, see if it can help you:

update: I just looked and didn't notice a match to your build ifo there.

I'm rather surprised more "66 savvy" people have not chimed in yet...it will happen, I think

I'm not familiar with the term 'desert cooler'. Is that a Ford piece, or an aftermarket? There are no markings on the top tank that I can see, but the left side strap is stamped C6ZE-E, and there is a brass tag that reads Mc10-G-5. The lower tank is for a manual trans. I was just wondering if this is the correct rad for this car? If I have to replace it what should the correct rad look like?

Desert cooler was basically the extra extra cooling option that few owners choose. Given what you provided it sounds like it could be the original and I would keep it based on what you posted here.

Think the issue is this thread is in the general discussion area not where we normally ask and answer questions. Often we'll split the thread when they take a new direction or the question dies on the threads (not usually :) and the question will get posted in the appropriate area and addressed there

CCP thanks for adding the info to your signature - sure helps

Thanks for the reply. How do I get my post to the appropriate thread. Just start a new thread in another area?
            Thanks again, Pete.

Some times it best to start fresh so feel free to post questions related to your 65 in the 65-66 section. The individual (Body, Drivetrain, Interior...) areas are designed for questions that span across a number of sections like a question or finding about 67-70 upper arms for example
