Best decal source Mustang early 1967 - SJ?
« on: March 29, 2016, 05:04:19 AM »
I'm looking to complete missing decals (especially underhood/engine + trunk) possibly near to concours.
Would also be great to post some pictures of the locations where to put them correctly.
What would be the best vendor to buy (a set) of them?
Find some in the internet, but not sure which one I should choose.
Thx for your sharing your experience.
Thats what I found here:

Jeff says....don't buy a set, buy individual....but where?
For me it will become expensive buying decals in different places ;)

Buy as many as you can from ECS .   http://ecsautomotive.com/productdesc.php?co=f&id=75    . It may make sense to buy a kit and just not use the unnecessary ones included. What they don't have you will have to source from somewhere else. What they do have are reproduced to a high authenticity standard compared to others.

If I am not mistaken, NPD sells the ECS decals individually. Just make sure you order the ECS because NPD also sells the lower quality decals too.

They are listed as "concours " in the second half of NPD 's decal/sticker section. OP is very confused on what is correct so it may be easier to understand on ecs website compared to NPD  . I get people calling me confused on this issue , which is ecs on NPD site ? all of the time. FYI ecs also sells individual but have a minimum which is easily reached .

Dave at ECS is a good guy. Charlie and Tom are the easiest to get a hold of.
Their phone number is:  855.532.7846

Ralf,
I just ordered a battery inspection decal from ECS with the dates and inspector stamps. Jeff said that there is more than one style. I am going to post pictures when my engine decal and battery decal arrive. We can confirm correctness after I post them here.

I just ordered a Battery OK sticker and a jack sticker plus another item but Tom didn't mention a minimum. I think I read that their Battery OK sticker is supposed to be correct for '69.

There is no minimum. If you don't want to spend the 7.50 for priority mail, you can have them sent them first class. It's about a dollar that way.

If its the filled out one then its a nice reproduction of a 69-up Dearborn one Just different material than the originals but paper is a pain

If smb has some of the above decals laying in the dust, not needed, I would take them ;-)

Jeff, mine is a 69. I should have stated that but I was just commenting on the minimum requirement from ECS. Sorry about the confusion.

Jeff, I spoke to Dave at ECS for almost an hour today. They have original samples from all three plants. They even went as far as get the assembly line inspector names and have them laser etched for each, and two or three names for each plant. Perhaps things have changed since you ordered one?
I also found out that SPEC ED is the one who provided Dave with most of the original samples.
