Wanted parts or where to find them
« on: March 17, 2016, 11:21:48 PM »
I am looking for the shifter rod and kickdown rod for a 71 Mach 1 with a 351c "M" and a C6 transmission.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

No number on the kick down (outside supplier that was not required to stamp them)  Don't recall the number on the shifter rod - but you might be able to make it out in the picture below

I think that Jeff posted a picture of the lock out rod, the one that goes between the steering column and transmission.

Stamped part number on the shift rod (from transmission to floor shifter) is D1ZA-7340-BA.

Just FYI,

The rod Jeff posted a pic of is an FMX rod (D1ZA-7E330-AA) The C6 rod is a D1ZA-7E330-BA Both of these are column lock rods. As Krelboyne stated, the shifter rod (C6) is D1ZA-7340-BA. I think I have these parts, give me a couple of days to hunt them down...

John, thanks for the reply.  I hadn't been able to get on here much lately and just saw your post.  Just let me know if you find either of them, I am still looking and appreciate all the help I can get.  Will be needing some other things down the road, just trying to get one thing done at a time before tackling more...lol

Hi Gary, Have the shift rod and column lock rod, just need to find the kickdown rod ( I have it packed away somewhere...) Also have the correct C6 if you need a trans, but I think shipping would be a bear.... All came from a 71 M code Mach1 I parted out in the early 1990's. Where are you located ?

John, I am in Nebraska.  The history on this car for your info, I bought it from a place in Grand Rapids,MI, the person who owned it passed away and evidently his family sold it to the dealer and I found it on line.  It never got finished from what the owner was doing, but overall, its a great car and I plan on finishing it over time.  There are other things it needs and I am trying to get ahold of the family to see if he might of stashed away some things that go to the car.  Sometime if you would be okay with it, I could call you or you could call me.  Just let me know and we can go from there.  I do have other feelers out for the shifter rod and kickdown rod, but nobody has gotten back to me.  I do appreciate what you have done already.  Will look forward to more communicating!!!  Thanks again
Gary
