1964 1/2 door jam courtesy light switch
« on: March 17, 2016, 11:09:00 AM »

I am wondering what would be the correct door jam switch for a June, Dearborn built, 64 1/2 Mustang?? Would they have been the metal style or the white plastic. And, if they were the white plastic, would there have been an AUTOLITE logo in the white plastic part of the mold?? Thanks!

Here's the response I had to that question a few years back-

Hope this helps.

My SJ 9/64 had one of each installed.  Guess the assembly line guys were out of sync  ;)

Both on my D code are white plastic. Also have pads on the doors that I guess protect the door paint from the button wear of the switch.

My 64' has the pads as well but i think it's because the door jam area , where the switch mounts, is not raised as with the following years... The pad made up for the design flaw.. ;D
