My investigation says, gold stamped when it is with A/C.
But could be a difference in built plant and built date as well.
Mine is San Jose 11/30/66 with AC.

Typically C5AF silver stamp.

I might have a NIB repro voltage regulator, Silver stamping, older design without the larger cut-out many repro's today have.

Message me if interested

Never seen a gold FoMoCo or Autolite stamped regulator any plant or year.

Might you be seeing yellow?

Have seen some Motorcraft that were sort of orange/goldish

C5TF is yellow stamp which is what you are probably referring to. It has a different capacity then C5AF silver stamp . C5TF is Typically paired with 55amp alt and also common service replacement .

WCCC:
Mustang 1967

Voltage Regulator w- Air Conditioning - Repro

Voltage Regulator COVER Only w- Air Conditioning - Repro

May be WCCC is wrong here?

I've read this is true (in other threads).

This is yet another sad disappointment.

Keep a spare electronic one available & a nut driver to change it out as needed...keeping the repro available as "show only"  >:(      ...just like the battery issue  >:(
