67 C6 trans linkage
« on: March 10, 2016, 05:06:33 PM »
My assembly manual only has a cut off pic of this, Im looking for the detail for how the passing gear cable return spring mounts to the transmission and what type of spring was used. Was this unique to 67 ?

Well there's another hour I won't get back ;)

What I found was part number C5ZZ-7B146-A  3 11/16" free length and .540" dia not painted apparently

Was this unique to 67 ?

Used also on 65 6 cyl C4 applications and 67 + 68 C4 & C6 applications. Don't think that made it much easier to find  :(

Thank you Jeff, so many times here as you know it seems you have a picture for just about everything that shows up in question form and Bam, a picture of exactly what was questioned and more often than not a picture of the example from a unrestored car, priceless. What is not as clear as your pics is that you have to research this and the picture if there is one to be found. I for one will think twice before asking for use of this powerful tool, Paul. ;)

Thanks Jeff, the hard part of this is the clip that mounts to the trans WCCC had a used one and their last one its not the same as in the assembly manual so I thought this would be an easy one as I realize there lots of 67 C6 shelbys out there. I will post a pic when it arrives it just doesn't seem to fit the way the trans is shaped on the drivers side.
