Mustang 1967 CV Oil Leak?
« on: February 21, 2016, 09:27:47 AM »
Hello,
Does anybody know where it comes from? Top cylinder left side? Other?
Some oil leak, colour more brown/black than red.

Not allot of "normal" reasons for a leak right there other than the power top. Got to open it up and see. Did have a leak like that once - turned out that a prior owner shoved a can of oil behind the quarter trim and it took years for the vibration against the metal brackets to wear a hole through. Made a mess of the carpet also

Top oil could be really old and burn like oil bad transmission fluid

Only one way to find out

Opened left side. No leakage on cylinder. Nevertheless,  that could be a possible reason. There was a leak almost 2 years ago on the cylinders. Changed both. So its more or less obvious what is been seen is part of the "old" oil, which is "swapping" still in some corners....
No other idea.
