67 s code  fb April 67 SJ  deluxe  interior  ivy gold,I have looked at  some threads  and photos  but am not sure ,
Is the steering column  the same color  as the painted  area of the dash

Yes it is painted the same color.

Would it be possible to paint the (tilt) column without dismantling? Means to do the "paint job" directly in the car? Using "air brush technology".
Due to overspray lot of things have to covered by foil......I guess. Generally doable?

Doable, maybe...Your job would be a bit shoddy.

The column should be painted out under the hood also. A bit difficult to duplicate the "factory look" without removal and at least "partial disassembled".

Thing is, I do have only a small scratch (about 2 inches) on the upper column, between steering wheel and turn signal switch.
Here I was thinking not to dismantle the complete column.

Now if your only worried about that scratch on that upper bell area you can at least try and touch it up but be careful of over spray onto other surfaces and those items (example mounting screws and tilt mech) that are int he general area

Yes, the upper housing is rather easy to remove once the wheel is off. (remove the T/S lever, the Flasher knob & two screws on the sides)

If you don't want to disable it, you can decant a spray can of the interior color and touch it up with an airbrush. It will already be thinned to shoot that way. If you want me to explain the process, PM me. I will cover it with you.
