65 Coupe Rear Seat Belt Eye Bolt Style Anchors vs Hex Bolt
« on: February 12, 2016, 04:27:21 PM »
I've believe I have read all the various posts regarding rear 64-66 seat belt bolt anchor locations and have found a lot of great information.  However, I still need some clarification regarding the installation of a set of rear Rotunda seat belts that have eye bolt style hooks instead of plates.  First, are eye bolt style anchors correct for a 65?  If yes, are the locations the same as shown in the Rotunda instruction sheet picture posted before?  The reason I ask is because the installation sheet shows plate style with hex bolts.  I attached a couple of pictures of my car with the seat removed.  Thanks for any help! Since 65 rear seat belts were only dealer-installed, it's a bit of a mixed bag and one way is not really considered correct.

If you want to do it the Ford recommended way, go by the install sheet that came in the Rotunda kits.

Hate to see you have to drill through those nice dual exhaust reinforcements.  Looks like a K code or A code GT...

Thanks, Charles.  It's an A code GT and I'm really hesitant to drill any holes as well.  So, if I do, I really want to make sure I do it correctly.  The only reason I would like to add the seat belts is so that my 2 kids are safer.

You might consider drilling straight down into the floor at the turn-up.  I had a convertible that was like that recently.  Would keep from drilling into the reinforcements.

Like you said before, if I'm going to do this, then I should place them where the installation sheet shows.  I appreciate your comments and time.
