about the only game in town is ACC brand. available thru NPD or virginia classic mustang. most folks opt for the mass backed option which provides a better fit.

You might want to add to your signature information about your car - if your only building one. Keeps us from having to ask over and over when and where the car was built.

Unfortunately (as offered) ACC is likely the only game in town. If you do a search you will find that in the past few years a couple of members were using another brand/provider just can't recall who it was.

When you car was built makes a difference if the carpet will have only the heel pad or both it and the tow pad. Color of the interior may play into the choice also. ;)

As usual there is not a quick and easy answer to all questions here on the site

No

Looking through past threads I see a couple of other companies mentioned. Don't know anything more than that. May still be in business or not

My car was built on Nov 24, 1964 in Dearborn. It has red interior.

Can you tell me exactly what carpet is correct for this car.

For a convertible built in Fall of '64, it will have the normal style carpet except there should be no toe pad, just the heel pad.

Just to ensure I order the correct carpet from NPD. They have a carpet listed as;

Mustang CARPET RAYLON WEAVE 64 1/2 RED

CARPET, RAYLON WEAVE, 64 1/2 RED CONVERTIBLE, HEEL PAD, NO TOE PAD AS ORIGINAL

Is this the correct one for my car?

Yes, that's about the best you'll find in a reproduction.

From what I understand, the 'RAYLON' is a new substitute for the original 80/20 carpet.  Appearance-wise, it is acceptable.  Put it next to an original and differences can be seen, very minor though.
