67 San Jose Power brake booster finish

What would  be the correct  finish for the power brake booster ,fluid  resovoir  and the lid on resovoir  there seems to be a lot of variables

Easy answer (search would turn up a number of threads) Semi-gloss black painted (booster, master cylinder, lid and all, check valve and spacer)

Picture shows the type of booster (supplier) that would have typical on your application. Master cylinder is different from you application though the painting is correct
April booster would have likely been after all the recall issues ;)

Thanks,that's what's there , must be right,it just looks  like it came back from the rebuilder and they paint  everything  black

By the way, for anyone looking at the picture Jeff posted, the MASTER CYLINDER in Jeff's picture is for a DRUM BRAKE car, this ties to the other previously mentioned thread also on one point.

Jeff : The Kit you have pictured doesn't happen to have any instructions with it, does it ?

Its not a kit but part of a service campaign due to the recalls. The information was outlined in the TSB's Special Service Letter dated March 10, 1967.

More recent information/pictures I found show that one page of information was included in the box with a shipping label attached to it. Not sure of what was on the page but at least some of it was likely how to handle the replacement and return of the old unit.  Earlier campaigns on the same matter included just replacing the check valve. When that didn't fix all of the problems the more expensive kit was sent out as discussed here

I was confused because the "Kit" I mentioned in the other current thread on the hoses, does not list the Master Cylinder as being included. Now it makes sense. I'll check my TSB's to see if they might provide any answers on the hoses.

What is the Part No. on that Recall Kit ?  The photo came in a little blurry and I can't make it out.

I would like to mention while we are one the booster subject that the service boosters like in the picture had a large Ford trademark on the topside. The assemblyline units typically did not have this large marking and were plain. The assemblyline  units only had a aluminum metal tag that carried the FOMOCO trademark. Many of your "NOS" units are sold for big money but are incorrect for assemblyline. A rebuilt plain assemblyline unit is the best way to represent a historically correct installation IMO.

Mine has fomoco stamped  in on the top side old style  script don't  see a aluminum  tag with fomoco

Mine (NOS one), has the old style FoMoCo script also (Service Part replacement as Bob described). It appears that the aluminum tag is bent around the screw fitting for the band clamp. Don't have access to it right now, but when I do I can confirm.

Can't make it out either (only have that one picture) For others notice the label design, this is typical for boxes containing parts in response to a service campaign (recall) during this period

Did find a reference and really poor picture on the internet of a page/instructions in the "kit" could not make out the words but it appeared to be more like instructions about the service campaign and how to return the old unit (had a preprinted shipping label attached) than anything else

What information is on the aluminum tag normally ?
Ford engineering number and at least one other sequence of numbers which I assume is Midland internal number.In practice it was bent over the attaching bolt (to get it out of the way or avoid hand cuts?) . It was also painted with the unit which given the combination makes it about impossible to read in it's normal position.

If memory serves me there was also a vacuum check valve recall that replaced the black valve with a white one? Correct me if I'm wrong.
