Fourth character of the engineering number is a "Z", that spells service replacement.

I seem to have come up with C5AZ-18813-J as an original is that correct ? I didn't realize this number too had the Z in the fourth place.

I don't believe it is any different than the other, except maybe the cable lead.
Going by the decipher guides,  C5= 65, A=Ford generic or full size and again Z=service replacement

67-68 are different from the 65-66 I believe

Should be a thread or two if I recall correctly

The C5AZ-18813-J Antennae is a rear quarter mount antennae, catalogued in 1966 as RH and LH, and sold together in two boxes. The two antennae are identical, but the instructions note that only one need be hooked up to the radio.
I've attached a few pictures, for your "Viewing" as opposed to "Listening" pleasure.

you have to look at physical characteristics because two types were bagged or boxed using those numbers. That is if you want a historical correct looking  assemblyline /dealer installed version.

+1 on 1967-68 being different. They carried Service Part No. C7ZZ-18813-A.

FYI you can find the correct looking 67/68 antenna sometimes in the C5 marked paper bags . That is why you have to give it a visual once over to confirm.

On an original is the mast pressed on to the base so as to be able to be pulled off, being assembled as a press fit I guess you would call it. I remember other threads about this but my search came up empty. Would COAZ-18A886-B be correct for a mast only replacement ?

the only thing I have been successful in changing was the press fit ball.
