Correct Radiator
« on: January 20, 2016, 12:17:05 PM »
Hi,

Happy New Years! I'm looking for a picture and part number of the correct radiator for my June 12, 1969 Dearborn Shelby GT 350w non a/c radiator.

Thank You!

If I remember correctly you were doing some mods on the engine. With that said you may want to consider the A/C radiator(wider) which is heavy duty cooling. I don't know why SA changed the design for 69/70 Shelby's. 68's got the heavy duty cooling regardless of if A/C or not. Not so for 69/70.The narrow one that came standard in a non A/C application may not cool enough. You may want to drive with the big radiator and but the little one on the shelf in case you ever decide to show in concours where the smaller radiator is most important. Just a thought .If you don't find one PM me next Friday as I am traveling .I should  have both types.

Thanks Bob, Ok,

A little more info. It is a four speed and the engine is bone stock not modifying it.. Trying to be as concours correct as I can be.

Thank you.

Originally it appears to have been a C9ZE-C radiator. Engineering number and date on the drivers side, side strap. Don't know the part number and doubt it would play a big part in your search for one ;)

FYI so there is no confusion - even though there is a A/C compressor (probably PO add on), the radiator is the 69/70 non air radiator in the picture. The heavy duty cooling radiator is wider and has a different looking top tank.

Thanks Bob - should have mentioned that in the other post since some may no recognize the source of the non-factory ac added
