1970 OEM Trunk Mat Fastback
« on: January 13, 2016, 10:54:42 PM »
Hello all.

I recently acquired the trunk mat in the attached photos.  Assuming the part number tag (c9ZZ-6345494-BIP) is correct and original to the mat, it's clearly a Ford service replacement mat for fastback.  The only thing that I have to compare it with a repro that I bought from Virginia mustang which is obviously not correct.

1) I'm wondering how does the texture of this mat compare with originals?  The speckle pattern is different than any repro that I've seen.

2) As shown in the photos, it's in two pieces.  A PO got happy with scissors??  I assume it's not supposed to be in two pieces.

Anyone have clear photos of an original that you can share??  Thank you!!!  Aaron

The ones I have pictures of don't have the mat covering the passenger side trunk floor area (where the spare and jack are located) and are cut straight along that edge. The additional panel may just be something they did on the service replacements.

First one I pulled up - Pattern looks different IMHO just looking at the two close-ups but could be one of a dozen of things
